In a study published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, four different diets were examined, including a typical western diet, a diet high in fat, a diet rich in fruits, and a diet rich in vegetables. The study found that women who followed a western diet, which is characterized by high consumption of red meats, processed and fried foods, were more likely to develop seborrheic dermatitis. On the other hand, individuals who consumed a diet high in fruits had a 25% lower risk of developing seborrheic dermatitis.

However, another study conducted on 51 patients with seborrheic dermatitis found no significant relationship between diet and the condition. If you are experiencing seborrheic dermatitis, it is important to consult a dermatologist to determine the best course of treatment for your specific case.
